1950.11 First issue of “Bulletin of Japan Dairy Technical Association”.

1961.03 Registered as Grading Organization according to Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) Law.

1963.02 Registered as The Laboratory for Designated Dairy Products by Livestock Industry Promotion Corporation(LIPC).

1967.08 Registered as The Central Laboratory for Milk by Japan Milk Fair Trade Conference (Start on inspection according to Fair Competition Code for Labeling of Milk).

1969.02 Acquisition of a part of “Nyugyo Kaikan BLDG”

1976.09 Registered as Grading Organization for ice cream and the likes according to JAS Law. Start on grading of ice cream and the likes.

1987.10 Designated as The Laboratory according to Food Sanitation Law by Minister of Health and Welfare (Start on inspection according to Food Sanitation Law).

1988.03 Head Office and Laboratory are moved.

1989.12 Acquisition of a part of “Kioicho BLDG”.

1995.07 Laboratory is moved to the present address and joined with the Head Office.

2004.03 Dissolution of Japanese National Committee of International Dairy Federation (JIDF) as a corporate body.

2004.04 Reorganization by the amalgamation with Japanese National Committee of International Dairy Federation (JIDF).

2004.05 Registered as The Laboratory according to Food Sanitation Law by Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare.

2004.06 Transfer of the residual property of JIDF.

2013.04 Licensed for establishment of Japan Dairy Technical Association(Public Interest Incorporated Foundation).

2018.04 We established the secretariat of Milk testing accuracy management certification system within the association.

2019.04 Transfer of Japanese National Committee of International Dairy Federation (JIDF) to J-Milk.

1. Ordinary Business

■Inspection-related Business

◎ Inspection of Designated Dairy Products:

According to The Law Concerning the Price Stabilization of Livestock Products and theLaw for Temporary Measures to Subsidize Producers of Milk for Processing, the JDTA inspects dairy products imported and sold by the Agriculture ＆ Livestock Industries Corporation. (Butter, Skim Milk Powder,etc.)

◎ Inspection according to the Food Sanitation Low:

The JDTA inspects many kinds of foods for import according to the Food Sanitation Law.

■R＆D Business

◎ Development of new methods to analyze components of milk and milk products.

◎ Publication of “Bulletin of Japan Dairy Technical Association.”

◎ Replying to questions from dairy companies and consumers.

◎ Training reinforcement of techniques for Good Laboratoty Practice(GLP).

■ Business of Handing Orders

◎ Physicochemical and Microbiological Analyses of Foods:

The JDTA accepts orders for conducting physicochemical and microbiological analyses of foods from the government and food industries.

◎ Investigation and Research

The JDTA accepts orders for investigation and scientific research on topics relating to milk and milk products.

■ Other

◎ Distribution of standard milk samples for calibration with Milcoscan and Fossomatic. 

2. Business related to expansion of domestic milk demand

◎ Survey of domestic milk composition:

The JDTA has surveyed the composition of domestic milk monthly by area and made public the results known since 1975.

◎ proficiency tests of Reference method , Milcoscan and Fossomatic which are used in the milk inspection stations and the dairy corporations of all over Japan.
